Part of the curriculum at Saint John Preschool includes the music and movement classes offered by Music Together©, an internationally acclaimed organization that focuses on music education and child development.

This is made possible through the Martha Witucki Dilenschneider Music Program which provides funding for weekly music lessons for each age group. During these sessions, students learn the fundamentals of singing, memorize phrases and synchronize hand movements with their voices.

Classroom teachers then follow through on the weekly sessions, adapting activities to their curriculum needs and interests. Recordings, songbooks, and teaching materials are provided to each classroom, and children " bring the music home" for parent child musical play, sharing the songs and activities learned in school.  Children learn from the model of music participation set by both parents and classroom teachers.  The joy of extended family music in school and at home creates a natural circle of learning that builds parent- child, parent-teacher, and parent- school relationships.

Our curriculum and facilities provide a rich environment for learning and growth.  It is developed in conjunction with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards. In addition to the outstanding lessons and activities provided by our teaching staff, throughout the school year we have special enrichment programs and activities including; Acting/Drama Workshops, Animal and Nature Programs, Dance and Movement, Sensory Exploration, STEM Programs, Storytellers, and Community Visitors

We offer a lunch bunch program on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons for our Threes and Fours Programs from 12:00 to 1:45 pm.  Sign up is on a month-to-month basis. Lunch Bunch is available to your child on the days that he/she attends school.
